Morning all. Yesterday we got back in the TVR fold after being away for over 4 years by buying a gorgious Mk1 tuscan dressed in reflex purple. Previous car was a Midas gold T350C. In between then and now was a 57 ft narrowboat. So hopefully you will all understand that i'm a bit out of touch.Anyway to start with just a small but never the less important question.
On my invoice it says engine capacity 3.6 ltr. In the advert it says 4.0ltr.I was always under the impression that all tuscans were 4 ltr.Can someone answer this please please ?
One other question rather than posting up a new topic. The tuscan next to the one we bought had a lovely suede steering wheel. Our cars is shiny black. Now this is the first of many things i'll be changing. So does anyone have one they can sell me.or know where i can get one.
Ta very much.Dave.
PS..if only i knew how to post pictures on here i'd do it.But i'm nearly sixty so don't get too techy eh...hehe

Hi Dave, welcome back, was it the one at Bespoke? It looked vey nicethumbup
Carn't remember exactly when, but yes they did start fitting a 3.6 engine, from late 03 I think. Certainly when the Tuscan 2 was launched in 04/05 they had the 3.6 engines. No doubt someone will be along shortly to confirm when this happened. A phone call to the dealer should clarify.
How many times have you been out to the garage to admire since yesterdayhehe these cars are just so addictivebiggrin

Hi.Aha yes it was.We looked at several cheaper cars before this one.And this one was a bit dearer than we really wanted to spend. But it was in great condition, apart from the obvious stone chips. Best thing of all was that Diane fell in love with it from the first moment she saw it.I knew i was half way there to buying it by then.
Bespoke are a really nice lot of guys. And they are having most of the front end resprayed for me. Only down thing is that I don't get it until the new year as Hiltons coachworks are so busy.... bohoo.

Thanks for the welcome back.I'm filling up here!It was nearly 5 years ago that we sold our beloved T350c to go and live on our narrowboat. In fact we were living on it for three years solid, winter and summer!! I could talk about those three years forever, good times and a few not so good times.Thats all bye the bye now,and swore i'd never get a TVR again, ask pauline and Ray frost.
But it's something that gets in your blood, and i just had to do it again. Before making the final decision it was TVR or Caravan.Which one would you have gone for eh? I was actuall begining to think that at nearly sixty i might be getting too old for a Tiv again. But from the moment i squeezed the button on the wing mirror to open the door.in fact Squeezed it 4 times. And the window slowly slid down with a lovely long squeal taking about ten seconds, and i pushed the interior light back into its hole, pressed down a bit of trim that had come unstuck i knew i was back where i belong.Yes inside one of the most exciting sports cars the world has ever seen
And i can't wait to get the darn thing,so much so i'm not sleeping. Sad or what?
In case you don't know its an 03 Tuscan Mk 1 in Reflex purple. One question while i'm on.Did Mk 1 Tuscans have air con?

Hi Podie. You know i still don't know your first name. Yes Di and I are both well,And hope you are too. Have you got married since we saw you last.May be a few kids?
The pictures i've taken are nice and sharp, but don't show of the Purple reflex. I'll do some more when i've got the car and the sun is showing it off at its best. Are you still a Tivver.

Hi
To answer both your questions. 3.6 engines are fitted in mk1 Tuscans. Mine is a 52 plate, had "4.0 chip" written in black felt tip on ecu when I got it so added to my confusion. If you have the engine number that will confirm for you - just can't remember the designation off the top of my head.
Also think later ones had aircon - again mine has (blue light on temp control when pushed in, and obviously compressor under bonnet. Lots of people prefer the 3.6 to the 4.0 as they apparently are more free revving.
Either way I'm sure you're bound to love it - welcome back to the fold

Hi Dave,

I thought you would be back in the world of TVR one day, unfortunately I sold the 350 at the beginning of the year but hopefully I'll see you about to check the Tuscan outsmile

That looked a nice car, and its a good job they're getting the paint work done for you as that's not cheap paint! I have the same colour and need a few bits done on it next year, so I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on the paintwork that's been done to yours when you get it!

I remember the car you've bought was up for sale on here about 2-3 months ago for all of about 2 days by a private seller before bespoke snapped it up to make their profit on it! Looked nice in the guys advert.

Its going to look even better when the paint is done.It went off today to Hiltons. Bespoke were selling the car for the owner.Who had to agree to let bespoke get the paint done so that i would buy it,estimated cost at around £1500.

Hi Dave

Looks like you're buying my Tuscan. It is a 4 litre and doesn't have aircon. The only reason I'm selling is that I'm 64 and there are so many more cars I want to try. Email me if you want any more information but, believe me, you are buying a good one.

Valhalla, my 4.0 is averaging around 25mpg! Which to my mind is incredible, even taking into consideration the lack of weight the engine is dragging around. Then again, I've been tiptoeing around like a church mouse at the altar... smile
