Boot release...
Discussion
Could be the switch behind the badge or the solenoid. I'd start with the switch.
You need to remove one or both of the rubber surrounded bungs/pieces of carpet in the boot (if you are in, otherwise you need to use the secret entry method to get into the boot). If you reach into the cavity you will find 2 bolts to the back of the badge, can't remember what size. Unscrew and the badge will come off revealing the switch. Easy enough just a bit fiddly!

Try opening and closing the passenger door. Happened to me on a couple of occasions, and on the 2nd time remembered someone on here saying the passenger door ecu controls the boot release also. Started working immediately after I did it.
Also, not sure if the mk2 has this, but the mk1 has a little button which locks the boot and doors from the inside when pressed.

To expand a little I found it was the internal button that seemed to affect the boot release. Happened occasionally over several months but hasn't happened now for years.Hi all, typically my rear boot on my Tuscan Mk1 won’t open today, it’s been working fine for weeks, then suddenly stops on the day i needed to get some tools out the boot, as it’s going to a TVR specialist for a once over tomorrow, could anyone please pm me instructions on how to manually open the boot please? Many thanks.
