My apologies if this has been covered in the past, but my searches have not produced a definitive answer.
I have just come back from TVRCRAFT in Salisbury who very kindly checked an EFI Fault code and reset it for me. This is on a Bank Holiday and they did it for free! Top service!
The question is this: has anyone managed to source the necessary software to do this at home? The interface is easy, the software is hardly complex and the time it would save both the owners and the mechanics would be enormous. I have just had a TVR guarantee put on my 2 yr old Tuscan S by Racing Green. If I drive with an EFI fault showing and it turns out to be a lambda sensor, then the subsequent damage is my liability. You can see the issue here.
OK - if the software is not in the public domain, what do you guys do about an intermittent EFI fault? Mine turned out to be a low battery level - which was a spurious reading as the battery is and always has been spot on.

Could you elaborate on the connections to the ECU, as on the loom I dissected, the diagnostic connector only had two pins, and one of those (pin 1) is a ground.....
(The other pin (2) went to ECU 14).
The diagnostic connector looked like this.......
(Pin 1 is on the bottom, pin 2 the top)

Thanks Colin for the Software..installed it OK ...but so far I'm not having any joy either with the cable...I assume the pin out is for a 9 pin serial port...bit suprised using pin 1 (ground/earth I think must check).I can't see which way up the cars connector should be so not sure which is pin 1 and which is pin 3 ...OK with Pin 2 cos that must be the middle one!! So tried both ways to no effect ..Does anyone know where you can get a male 3 pin socket to fit the one in the car??? Tried Malpins no joy.

On mine I have the newer terminal block on the passenger side which is a standard for all cars now...I'm told TVR had to install it to met the requirements of the Japanesse market.
I'm a tight git so still running Windows 98...when I close the TVR software...it kindly shuts down windows.

I think I got to the bottom of the cable, the connector is as follows
ECU pin 1 to Serial Pin 5 (Ground)
pin 2 to 2
pin 3 to 3
At least this makes more sense Rx, Tx and GND. However I still can't get it talking. REALLY stupid question now - does the engine actually have to be running?
If you look very closly at the connector it has 1,2,3 marked on it. I'll double check the position tonight at home for you.
