Front splitter

Really want to try and cure the front end lift at speed. I've read some threads on front splitters, but can anyone who's put 1 on a standard non S describe how it compares and what effect it has at high speed- also I don't want to put on a boot spoiler but not sure if this is needed or not to balance the car.

I think you'll find that getting a decent aftermarket spring/damper kit installed and properly set up will have much more of an effect at reducing the percieved front end lift you're experiencing. The crappy standard set up makes the car feel vague (like the front is lifting) at high speeds as the suspension is not able to respond quickly enough to the road surface. This effectivly means that the tyre/road contact pressure becomes increasingly compromised with speed as the tyre is not able to follow the road surface well enough.

The 'S' aero kit only really has any noticable effect once you're north of 120 mph anyway.

Just picked the car up having had Gaz golds fitted on Saturday- a bit of fine tuning still needed, but you're right it does feel much better especially on A roads. However it is above 120 that I want the stability it just doesn't feel tied down enough.

Thanks Mat, if this is the guy we talked about can he produce in carbon fibre with mounting brackets?
Is there anyone else who can tell me if they've tried this and what difference has it made.

I have a carbon 'S' splitter, but havn't a clue who made it as i bought it privately. Doing searches on the net brought up nothing, so i guess i was lucky to find the one i have as i've never seen another.

I have a front splitter with no rear spoiler on my mk1 Tuscan, taken it up to about 145 with no problems.. Bought the car with it already fitted though so can’t give you a comparison.

I have had both fitted to my Tuscan red rose and it does make a lot of difference at the higher speeds. A lot my stable and feels more comfortable at high speeds

fitted a front splitter to mine approx 8 months ago, noticed a difference straight away, (TVR Power body shop Newlun fitted mine, delivered to and from door, superb service and finished article)was still shaky over 130 leptons until I recently fitted Nitrons, oh my god, what a difference,

Its like comparing nite and day, very comfortable over 140+, no lift, verry stable.I have not really tried capability yet in this weather.

Interesting stuff. Not familiar with Newlun though, can I find them in Sprint, and did Power supply the brackets?
From your profile's profile (get it) it looks as though you've got an 'S' rear spoiler without a front splitter or is that just the angle of shot.
