Had Goodyear F1's fitted all round on Weds & after initial scary moments while wearing off the coating they are fantastic! Pretty good price too with fronts at £119 fitted & rears at £135 fitted (235/40/18 & 245/40/18)
So if your thinking of changing your tyres I recommend these highly.

Had some F1's put on the back of mine recently. For the first 150 miles or so the back end was all over the place and didn't feel very tied down at all. They're now fine although seem a little more prone to tramlining than the previous Toyo's were. This may go away with time though.

Standard firment on my T2. Changed the rears yesterday and almost did a 180 leaving the tyre place with no more than 2500 revs on board. Could almost see the other customers mouthing "knob". hehe

Scrubbed them in on the leeds cinema run last night and they seem fine now.

Are you on the GSD3s or the new asymetric ones? I need new fronts on mine and not sure which to go for.

How do you guys rate the Goodyears comparing them to the Toyo Proxes? I have been happy with the Toyo's but they are really wearing fast especially on the rear and I have swopped them with the fronts to keep all 4 even wear (mine is the S, same size all round). I reckon I will soon need 4 new boots so I am keen to know what folk think about the tyres they have tried.

Thanks

Mind: he front and rear offsets are about 12 mm different: swapping wheels can lead to some funny driving!

Graham,
I rate the F1s. Sidewall a little less firm than the Toyos - good in the wet, no more road noise, they seem quite hard wearing and provide good grip and feel at track days. I run R888s on the Sag but don't do too many miles. If it were doing 6000 miles+ per yera, it would be wearing F1s.

I've just had T1Rs fitted to my RS6 and expect them to be up to the job - may have preferred the F1s had they been availaible. smile

Thanks for that John, a set of F1's will be on the shopping list, I reckon by September the Toyo's will be wearing into the blocks and ready for replacement.

Take care
