Dave at Automedon is a star. Serviced my Tuscan before Le Mans and was very happy with the work and the price.

I had a problem with a faulty spark plug (sheared off in the threads eek) a couple of days later. He stayed in the workshop in the evening, on a Friday, whilst the AA truck brought the car to him (from Saltaire to Poulton!) fixed it on the back of the low-loader and sent it back to me running sweet as a nut! The car was away from my house for about 3-4 hours in total.

Thinking about it, I probably owe him a beer for that.... scratchchin

I would second that. Gofer rang me late afternoon to say it was bust, had it fixed and was at the pub for last orders. Actually remembering the headache I had the next day I am not sure that's a good thing.

My car (a chim 500) is going to Automedon this weekend for a service, new Gaz Gold shocks and to get the wing mirrors resprayed. Have used Automedon before and the service has always been A1.

Go to Automedon. Dave probably built your car. Who better to service it.

My Car has been there five weeks now to have the folowing done :
12K service
Replacement Cylinder head gasket
4 new tyres
4 Wheel refurbs - Silver -> anthracite

I'm waiting delivery back hopefully tomorrow (and of course the bill !!)

I've not found them very communicative in that I've had to make all the phone calls along the lines "when can I have it back". This of course maybe because they are doing a fantastic job and very busy smokin.
Maybe I'm just being impatient to get my P & J back bounce but I do think five weeks is a bit of a long time for the above.
Dunno - am I being unreasonable here scratchchin?

I would agree. They do a top job for a good price although they did take their time.

they are very good, dave done a 6k plus tappets on my car last year, they have the car just now, have done a 12k service, front discs, clutch and replaced the worn out valve guides, (t350 with 24k on clock, 53 plate)

its been away for 4 weeks now, a week ago they were only waiting on a clutch from tvr power, im hoping when im home from offshore next week it will be ready, not looking forward to the bill. frown

That's interesting. What symptoms was your engine displaying for this to be the diagnosis? Mine is now on 30k and runs sweet but has quite a thirst for oil.

Are they going to replace any other valvegear parts? How much did they quote?

Automedon - use them they are really great.

May take a bit of time, may not always keep you bang up to date - BUT they know the cars inside out, I have had nothing but an excellent service from them - good price

And after the car has been fettled by them it feels great

Think yourself lucky , they had mine for five months.
That said, they are the best at what they do and the respray they done on my car has got to be one of the best around.
Will be ringing them this week for a service and mot.

Thanks for all the advice! I presume a 6000k service can be done in a day? so i woulnt have to leave it up there ? (on the presumption thats all it needs)
