Getting into boot when badge doesn't work

Hi,

Can someone clue me in on how you get into the boot if pressing the badge doesn't work.

So far, I've got around the problem by opening the passanger door, the badge then works again.
I'm just a bit worried that it might not work one time.

On a wider subject, what do people do when all of the electric locks stop working becouse of flat battery, radio interferance etc, etc.
Its cool having electric locks but it is most surely a weakness as well.

need to phone tvr ,very easy to do,not the best idea to tell everyone on the net how to get in to your motor

The best bet is speak to your dealer.

The boot release and passenger door are controlled by the same ecu, and I've found in the past the internal door button re-sets the ecu. This is usually caused by water ingress.

With a flat battery just connect jumpleads to the Anderson connector just behind the front nearside wheel, you can get the specific leads from places like Leven Tech.[/b]

remember you have your anti-car jacking button(central locking) to the right of the radio which is easy to press by accident then when you get out the boot will not work, requiring you to alarm and un alarm the car.

Also the boot switch mechanism can get a bit sticky requiring you to operate it a number of times to free it up and/or a touch of WD40.

Hmm, didn't know about the anti carjacking button.

Lock opperation seems OK, I did use some WD40 on it but it seems free enough.

I had a similar problem last week (although it was caused by me being a bit of a numpty!) and I called Tony at Hexham Horseless Carriages. He explained the cunning way of gaining access - suggest you give him a call or your own dealer.

Yep, got a set of those.

They are kept in the boot....Which would be a problem opening if the battery is flat!

Anyway, sorted now

Always thought it amazing TVR put electric door/boot openers on the car then leave out a lights on buzzer

TVR did learn something...on my Tuscan 2 if I leave the lights on, the Dash stays illuminated and a Msg LIGHTS ON appears on the console....See that's progess for you.... Must admit it doesn't bleep

Thanks Lowest, just tried it and it made a pathetic whistle...went into setup and changed my ENGINE OFF VOLUME to 100% it now sounds quite loudly when you leave the lights on...It's really great with a Tuscan 2 (or should I say 3 since the electrics on a vert dash was known as a Tuscan 3 at Bristol Avenue) with no Drivers Handbook, it's like building an MFI wardrobe without instructions...you get there ...EVENTUALLY

You can do all sorts of rather pointless things I've got my indicators set only to make the funny squeaky noise below 1000 rpm.... Not sure why but hey I did it because I could. I wish I knew what else could be done with the various setting available. Any one from the factory any ideas?
