Solution for Heat off manifold?

I've put heat protection aluminium sheeting under a section of the bonnet to prevent heat from the manifold distrupting the paint on the bonnet. I put a light coat of black heat resistant paint over the aluminium sheeting to help stop all the heat just being reflected back at the engine bay.



Then I put some of the sheeting under the scuttle below the windscreen where the heat causes the paint to bubble. And covered other un-protected areas around the manifold.

I just wondered if anyone has tried any similar methods and what were the effects?

There was a thread about this problem a few weeks back.
This solution was proposed but nobody mentioned they had done it.
I think its a good idea especially for the small panel.
Are you concerned that this solution will cause the engine bay to retain heat and maybe run even hotter than normal.
I wouldnt think that it will make much difference to the engine bay average temperature.

Anyway thanks for the pictures, looks a good job and I think that I will add this to my list.
