Carbon Fibre Tuscan

Does anyone know if there was a Tuscan with carbonfibre body produced?

If so who owns it? Was it 100% carbon? Who made the panels?

Any pictures?

Parts of it were carbon, but not all of it.

I am aware of who made some of the parts and I know they have some interior parts as I have had a carbon centre console made (which is in the post as I type).

The maker of the Tuscan did come on here but not sure if he does now, will not say who he is to keep things private for him, don't know where the Tuscan is now but i have got photo's of it, i personally thought it was brilliant.

Any chance of some pic's. I'd like to see if it looks any different. Also to see how it was finished?

I'd really be interested in having or buying some carbon bits for mine. (Bonnet, service bonnet, boot or roof)

Depending on the cost. Anyone else interested in these?

I can obtain the door cards and the centre console, plus the airbox (which is being marketed by Tim at ACT) and shortly (i.e. hopefully next week) the cam cover insert all in carbon ( This will have a neoprene gasket and will dispense with the need for that silicone mess!).

The next additions will be the radio pod and dash surround in carbon, plus I will shortly be conducting a feasibility study for a carbon fibre propshaft.

We have not moved onto body panels as the early tuscans whilst better than the Griffs and Chimeras for regularity of dimensions were still a bit dodgy. Roof panels may be a possibility but the market will be very small and costs are likely to be relatively high as a result (such is the nature of bespoking).

Each part is made and then only when we are happy with the quality and they have been trial fitted to a few cars will we release the product.

(They are the bits I want as well so expect me to prioritise them).

The only issue I can see with the radio pod is that it will reflect in the screen if it is gloss finished so I am working on making it a gloss finish at the front and matt at the back to stop this.

I've seen the airbox which looks great. Have you any pictures of the door cards and other stuff?

I think there must be considerable weight to save from carbon body parts.

Some I have commissioned and others I have made relationships with (or Joint Ventures)with those that have previously made the parts (e.g. the door cards).

This is not my business, only a hobby and I tend to commission parts I want first and foremost, but I intend to change this approach shortly so will be likely be an advertiser on PH shortly. At this stage I don't want to talk much about this, but there is a product strategy and some things in train (not TVR i'm afraid in the main), but as ever it takes ages to get these things off the ground and I won't do things half arsed.

All parts will be UK made (as unlike Mr Smolenski) I value our artisans and quality will be our number 1 goal.

Too answer your specific question the cam cover insert is a JV and the centre console is a JV. The radio pod and dash will be my own.

The reason for the JV's is to reduce the risk to me at this stage and to have established outlets to the market.

I will get some photos and post them.

That Tuscan you mentioned with carbon fibre made for that Russian bloke wouldnt be the car mentioned in the "Italian in my Tuscan" thread.

Looks grotesque if you ask me. It seems they've deliberately gone for the 'lots of bits stuck on' look rather than try to make it look like a cohesive design. Even where the joins *could* have been blended they haven't done.

Thats not the car in max power,it looked like a normal Tuscan,said it was fully made from carbon fibre,i think they said it was 90K ish.
No idea if its true or not
