Tuscan 1 Piece Bonnet Modification

some time ago someone posted a superb modification on the above. I would be interested if this is now a marketable product, and if so where?, who? and how much?

The conversion is up and running.

I have spoken to Scole Engineering and they say its about 30 hours to do.

You should ask to speak to Jason on 01379 740940 as the customer spec will determine the final cost.

Hi Biggrif,
Did they have to do much strengthening of the hinge area to take the aditional weight ?
I had to ship my Tuscan back from Germany recently and the small bonnet got damaged during the process.
When it was repaired, I was advised that there wasnt much room to build up the fibreglass at the pivot area on the small bonnet as it would bind on the body and that they are quite weak there.

Yes they did put in a new hinge system and it was reinforced with fibreglass. I did see it partly completed and it looked a lot more substantial than the TVR original effort.

Is the bonnet still bolted down? Because it was suggested to me that the reason for the 2 piece bonnet was that the main part of the bonnet needed to be bolted down for rigidity purposes.

Any costs for this mod yet - it looks great.

Think their labour rate is about £35 an hour (not sure could be £30), so 30 hours makes it about £900 approx.

I spent a lot more making it all nice and shiney!

just spoke to Jason, a real helpful gent. Sent my details and he is sending quote, via e mail. It seems there is a real interest in it and he is only now pricing it for real.

They are very busy so be prepared for a wait. The place is stuffed full of Astons and TVr's at the moment.
