Oil leak=eek

I pulled the car out the garage yesterday and noticed an oil patch on the floor, about a table spoons worth I guess. Looked under driversside front and can see dirt and oil on chassis below scavenger pump and steering arm.
Cleaned it all off so could see next time where its coming from.

After a small drive it looks to be from that location. Could it be the pipe, pump or poss after speaking to Barnet TVR the sump seal? If this is the case what am I looking at in repair costs and how easy/time wise. Just have booked a damm track eve for tomo anddont fancy dumping the engine on the track!

I had the same on my car, and it turned out to be the oil hose from the tank to the engine.

There was a small hole which was rubbed by a stone which had wedged itself between the hose and the chassis rail.

It could be a leak in the oil sender. its about £50 for a new sender and 1/2 hour labour on your next service or you could do it yourself if you can't wait.

This was the case on mine as well. Its a common fault and an easy fix.

Well took it to barnet TVR yesterday before my track day, not the sensor or the pipe. They seemed to think it was the jack shaft seal?? Thing was it was only weeping so we left it for that day as they are not sure if the seal/washer is internal or external of the block (hoping external). Anyway did the track day, only used a little oil like would expect. However this morning lots more oil on floor pan under car and on floor. Not looking good so the car is back in at Barnet now. Not looking forward for the possible large bill as the jack shaft seal is a bugger to get to apparently?? Oh well just need to get it fixed though, and before rockingham I hope....

will post up the result when I know. But if someone knows these seals please let me into the costs!

Spoke to Barnet, seems it was the scavenger pump pipe leaking. they are having one made and replacing it as I type :grin: Should have it back for rockingham now.

Just got car back from Barnet, massive thanks to the guys for getting the car done before the weekend. It was the pipe from the scavenger pump that had worn away against the chassis. Replaced with braided metal pipe thats race spec so should be future proof. Top guys there though and great service. One happy guy for the weekend
