Clutch woes again

Got a mile from home about three weeks ago, stopped at a roundabout heard horrible screeching noises and burning smell. No gears whatsoever 
AA delivered car to local indie and four days later get car back with new clutch (and efi fault which indie couldn't clear
).
Anyway, clutch was very stiff but I was warned about this and that it would ease as the plates bed in. It duly did this although I never seemed to get a truly "consistent" feel but it all seemed OK.
Till Yesterday
In slow moving traffic for about 10 / 15 mins in sunny Cleethorpes press clutch and it goes solid half way down. Won't go into gear. Turn engine off and on , wait a few mins & try again - clutch alway down to floor now - put in into gear but no forward motion. Press clutch again and it is solid. I wnt on with this for about 10 mins 'till I gave up and pushed it outside Audi dealer.
Returned to car three hours later. Called AA and whilst I was waiting tried again. This time everything seemed "OK" so I drove it home changing gear as little as possible (managed to stay in 5th all the way from start of A180 to outside my house - and even got it into my garage !!).
This morning AA truck arrives to cart it back off to indie and I drove it onto the low loader !!.
So I now know whats coming ...
Tried your clutch and I can't find anything wrong with it mate - sorry.
Can anyone shed light on what the bl"£dy hell is happening ?

AFAIK its the existing design that's been put in.
Think I must've had brain f$%t not getting the new design put in.
We'll see what transpires.
Indie talked to me today and can't replicate the problem - but hasn't given up.
Just for info can anybody explain how the the clutch master & slave cylinder work in conjunction as one of the theories as to what happened was the fluid has been pushed from Master to slave and not managed to return and that was why the clutch pedal was solid half way down. The 3 hrs I left it allowed the fluid to move back again.
The above is my understanding of the conversation - so i don't know whether I've paraphrased it correctly - but it was something like that.
