Hi just looking for a bit of help

Does anybody know this car apparently it was owned by a pistonheader for the first 7,000 miles having only done 1k in 1year with the new owner

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/225282.htm

what upgrades does the s have over standard and what extra are they worth at re-sale?

What does anyone think it is worth (engine is meant to be ok but has never had anywork done or new clutch)

Any help or advice grately received

Thanks in advance

Wishy

Hi Wishy.Looks like a splendid car.The S version is much rarer and hence tends to command better resale prices. They came with air con-close ratio gearbox-limited slip diff-gas discharge headlamps-front & rear spoilers and the big wheel & brake kit and allegdedly 400+ horsepower, which after doing the fighting torque in my S last sunday tend to think is right.Along with another S ours were the fastest SP6 cars there, and with a couple of exceptions were the fastest TVRs there full stop.As far as engine & clutch problems go,post 2001 engines were supposed to be much better, mine has done 20000 miles now without a rebuild and is still on original clutch.Just had it serviced by Offord TVR (who are great )and they gave the engine a clean bill of health.Look for full Tvr history, always warm it up properly, check oil level regulary and you should have the most fun speed & power that 25k can buy.
Just do it.

Looks great, if you are serious about buying get a top end check done. Shouldnt cost a lot £100-£200 maybe split cost with seller. Check for thickness of shims and wear on cams/followers. Ask what thickness shims are fitted, (thicker shims allow for more future adjustment). Could save a load of grief later. V low mileage so should have plenty left! Dave.

Looks really nice from the photo's, with only 8k on it I'm sure it'll be like new. The price is a bit high for a private sale but then it looks to be a good one, maybe ask him to knock a bit off to cover a after market warrenty?
