You may recall threads on PH in the past that mentioned not to tailgate Tuscans (not that many would or indeed could!) along the lines of cans flying off due to duff design, rear screen pop outs at speed, accelerator cables going or (dare I say it!) the odd occasion when engines go pop!.......well here is a new one to add to the list!

I always presumed the targa roof was an one piece moulding but apparently not so. I found this out when travelling on my merry way on a motorway and suddenly woooshh!! I discovered that there are 2 side panel trim mouldings stuck on the main targa roof, too much traffic to stop and recover (a little dubious to do but if I knew the hassles of getting a replacement, I think I should have!), but as far I could tell, didn't hit anyone following!. In true Tiv fashion, just bonded/glued on the main panel. I am not sure whether the occasional roof removal loosen it, or whether some scrote has tried to gain access to the driver's door and hence attacked the said piece loosening it in process.....I do know though, that it was not down to speed that it flew right off, and the roof was firmly on, even window was firmly up!

Anyway, to complete the story, looking like a WHOLE replacement targa roof as the side trim looking a little scarce (tried a few dealers and the usual breakers) and that looks like the only option, with a need to respray to the colour of the car....and that is only assuming that a replacement is readily interchangeable!......any other pointers as to where I can grab one would be greatly appreciated...any colour, any condition...it is for a Mk1 Tusc! Or you may just have a damaged roof where the trim on the driver side is intact, and we can do a deal!

There you have it, if any excuse were ever needed, don't let others tailgate you......we drive lethal machines!

I had the same problem in trying to source one of the side panels for the roof, try fibreon on 01384262211 as they were looking out for the parts to take the moulds. Or try Keith Burgess from Clevor Trevor on 02089228576, he managed to source the part for me, and it was less than £20. Hope this helps.
