window won't stop winding
Discussion
There's 2 control units under the centre consol on my MK1 that caused me problems. I had a problem with the doors not opening though. The 2 control units (as far as I know from stripping my doors down) control everything to do with the door opening operation and probably the window opening.
There's also a micro switch in the door shut (behind a plate held on with 3 screws on my car) that senses when the door is open and closed. I.e. when you shut the door it actuates the switch and the window shuts.
My best advice is if your car has the same 2 control units disconnect them, swap them over with each other and see if the problem goes to the other door. This was how I found that my control units were playing up. Mine was dry joints but I do run a 7 year old car with 38,000 on the clock.

Thanks Guy's, advice much appreciated
Apparently the window mechanism stripped it's cog and was floating to much for sensors to pick up hence constant winder action.
HHC (Hexham) to the rescue again, quick fix under warranty no quibble.
Thanks again guys brilliant service as usual, you guys out there need to use HHC there great.
