speedo transducer, anything to do with fueling?
Discussion
Stupid Q I know, but does the speedo transducer have anything to do with fueling? (i.e how much fuel goes into the engine?) 'scuse my lay-mans talk
After having my original 2000 spec transducer replaced with a more up-to-date one everything seems just a touch smoother when cold, starting, tickover and the huge smell of petrol doesnt seem to be there when starting from cold too.

Not sure if the SP6 engine management software is a closed-loop system that takes feedback from the roadspeed to affect the fueling etc. Can't see it myself. However, I think the V8 software has feedback from the transducer to let the ECU know when the car is moving but with no throttle loading. This would affect the way the stepper motor operates I think. Perhaps there is something similar going on in the SP6?
Seems to me that TVR didn't build (many) input filters into their software - only got to take a look at what the display readings do to figure that out! - I reckon if they did build feedback from the transducer into the loop, the pulses would be treated as raw inputs and, if there was an effect on the system, a dodgy sender or transducer location could theoretically cause all sorts of issues.....
Perhaps someone more familiar with the software might come along and answer this one...interesting question though..
