Long Tuscan journeys..

In case anyone is worried about embarking on long journeys in their Tuscan, my response would be don't. Just got back from a 700 mile, 3 day trip to France to stock up on champagne and returned with a boot full and a very well behaved Tuscan which was again a delight to drive in France. Great roads, sunny weather, lovely positive reactions from everyone - in short, I could not recommend it highly enough. Mine has now done 3* 1000 mile trips to Le Man, a 2k trip to Scotland and this one so get travel planning anyone who has not experienced some major travels!

Last Thursday I took my Tusc down to Angers (near Nantes) - 660 mile round trip in a day to visit a client (couldn't be bothered to drive up to the airport or to pay for an excessively expensive train journey). Weather was great, roads were fabulous (couple of nice tunnels too!) and the car just ate up the miles without complaining. I did notice a little unusual "hesitation" when cruising at motorway speeds on the way back but I had just filled up with Shell 98RON and though maybe I had got a bad batch or that there was a bit of crud in the fueling system. Next time I filled up with Total Excellium (had to as only had a couple of litres left and was starting to panic trying to find a Shell station.....
) and the hesitation disappeared....strange one but all seems to be ok now.

Met a nice chap with his Spyker in Calais on the way back too, awesome sound of that V8!

Mine's off for it's second trip to France this weekend. I took it to the England V USA rugby match last weekend and we're going to the England V SA game this weekend. It seemed to cause quite a stir on the French roads with lots of people taking a look and folks on bikes shouting, pointing and waving lots. I don't have any worries about long journeys in the Tuscan and it's never let me down.

Coming back from Champagne, even with Carbon Cans, I was well and truly trumped when a Guara Spyder (in purple) pulled up close behind me. Did not expect that to happen very often!

Yeah, 'tis a Spyker, awesome sounding motor! We both got off the train and headed out of Folkstone at pretty much the same time so we had a bit of a play coming up the M20 but not for long as I got off at J10. However, the sound of the V8 when he put his foot down to go past me was stunning - really deep and smooth but really, really loud. We swapped places on the motorway a couple of times on the way up to J10 so I let him know just how a de-catted Tusc with carbon cans sounds too!

Just got back from my second trip to France with no problems. Drive to Paris on Friday for the Rugby then a mad dash back on Saturday. I did have to get 2 new tyres while in Paris and the car caused quite a stir in "Mr Speedy" tyres which includied a lovely chap dashing across Paris on a scooter to collect some tyres of the right size!!

I've just got back from 2,500 miles through France, Italy and Switzerland, taking in the Italian GP en route. The car was faultless, handling 30C heat, multiple jaunts to the tops of mountain passes, and with a boot packed with two weeks' worth of luggage. It even out-dragged a 600cc bike on the ascent of the Furka Pass.
The only problems experienced were a few new stone chips; a tendency for the EFI Fault warning to come on when up at 2000m+ altitudes (which I think Luca has also mentioned in the past); and the inability of valet parking attendants to work out how to get out of the car
