As the title says. What are the pros and cons? Is it an easy job and what are the costs to buy decat pipes? Thanks.

I have a 3.6 T350 and found that de-catting along with a re-map made a huge improvement to the car. Much more torque and bhp through the rev range. So many pro's, but con's would be you'll need a re-map to get the best from the de-catt and come MOT time you'll need the cats put back in and taken out. I imagine this will add a couple of hundred quid to the cost of the MOT. It's a couple of hundred quid or thereabouts to de-catt in the first place also. The re-map would be around £750.

Have a look at the SP6 forum "Results of Austec re-map and de-catt" as I have posted up the dyno results before re-map / post re-map and post de-catt with tweaked mapping. The results speak for themselves really.

I had de-cat pipes fitted on mine at Austec, lots of snap crackle and pop now, seems to be more grunty and responsive.

Made and fitted my own decats for the Tussy. Runs a lot better with them on. When time allows, will be taking it to TVR Power for a possible remap and rolling road session. Also won the loudest TVR comp at the BNG, which was a bonus biggrin. The second place car (Madbadgers TAM) was also running a set of decats I had made.
