tuscan boot motor works boot wont open any help please
Discussion
Had my tuscan about 3 weeks and the boot release worked fine until now. it used to open with 1 push of the button, then it needed 2 pushes to open now needs 3 or 4 pushes of the button to open. the lock was changed not long ago. the motor seems to work fine just wondering if it need lubricating or something. I'm new to tuscan ownership so if anyone has any advice please let me know,
many thanks.
many thanks.
Is the solenoid repeatedly trying to open the boot when you press the button? Or is the solenoid failing to actually operate until you press the button a few times?
Mine takes anywhere between 3 and 6 goes of the solenoid before the catch releases the boot-lid sometimes. I just live with it.....
I think it can be adjusted though - depends on whether it is the physical location of the "pin" or the actual lock itself - mine is the lock, the catch on the lock just doesn't retract enough when the solenoid activates. After a couple of tries it pulls back far enough for the pin to disengage.

Mine was similar, you used to have to push it several times and listen for the additional click when it finally opened. When I had my respray done they adjusted it and it was great for a while but it seems to be slipping back into it's old ways (which is not really a big deal). I also think that the weather and temperature have somehting to do with it as mine is certainly better when it's dry and warm than wet and cold.
I had the same problem. Some days good, some days took many pushes. Eventually just stopped and wouldn't open. Makes it awkward when you need some fuel! Had the solenoid replaced (easy to get Ford part) and now it's fine and works first time, every time.
