Changing the clutch

Just wondering if there is anything I should be aware of before attempting the job? Was driving through London last week when I seemed to get a bit of a clonk, then couldn't get any gears, the peddle is still there so think its probably the fingers on the diaphragm rather than the slave cylinder.

interested in this too, as mine is on the way out from slave cylinders. Im Farnham way, if you fancy doing a double gearbox off job together to help, know getting a box off on own is hard.

The procedure (third/fourth ones down on the list) is for a Cerbera, but the basics (and the clutch itself) are the same.

Only advice I can offer is that I'd definitely consider replacing the slave cylinder even if it hasn't failed - may sound nuts but the uprated one from Clever Trevor makes a huge difference to the operation of the clutch, and should last a lot longer than the original. You might as well only take the box off once....

Thats whaT I will be doing, but how much more does that involve doing?

Well it's all off, have the clutch slave resealed as the uprated one wasn't available, the clutch is together so just a case of bolting it all back together now. Came across a few problems, one of my cats have half melted so trying to source some decat pipes but not having much luck, also one of the gearbox mounts was split so that will need replacing too.

Apparently they are waiting for them to be made and will take 2 weeks.

there is another place that does decat pipes, to do with DJC on here, cannot remember the name of their website.

That is PDQ they also do replacement cats.

Came across a problem, hadn't noticed one of the butterfly springs on the back plate had snapped, put the clutch back on but couldn't get it to disengage.

Next problem was the prop shaft bolts were quite worn, would recommend buying new ones if going to do a DIY clutch.
