Anyone experienced the TVR Ride Drive package?

Hi,

wifey surprised me for my birthday with a gift token for the above, car control on an unused airport runway, in the very near future. Any one on here done this, if so, any tips to get the most out of the day??

Just forget everything you thought you knew & put your faith in your instructor.

You'll love it, but be prepared to be completely knackered by the end of the day.

A lot depends on how much driving experience you already have and how good your "instructor" is. To be honest, I didn't get much out of it that I hadn't picked up using common sense over 30 years on the road.

Wet days are best because you can really get your car sideways without too much tyre damage and you get to feel the TVR's apparent wet road twitchiness without fear. I was very surprised at just how much abuse the Tiv would take before biting back.

Finally, this is not a course to show you how to drive quickly round a track - it is mainly trying to show you how to "make progress" in real world traffic.

Superb course - highly recommended; have done one full day and one half day a year later to see how I had improved and I still put those learnings into practice daily. As mentioned, be prepared to be shattered at end of day, but also be prepared to learn a lot. The added 25% off insurance through A Flux also helps the experience.

Wish i had known that a couple of months back!!

The day i had ( if its the north weald one) was fantastic, just three of us, tuscan 2, tamora, and an exige.

When he tells you to use one finger to steer you gotta totaly trust him!!! Scary.

Is that the Walshy (Carlmits) day? If so that seems to be totally different to the ride drive ones.

It sounds superb, cant wait now. Having had the beast bite a few times in the wet, and a few brown trouser moments along with it, it will b good to learn how limit those moments, or at least control them.
