What should I budget to keep a Tuscan on the road?

Howdy, hopefully buying a Tuscan this weekend, I have trawled through PH and TVRCC and gleaned lots of info on these (inc the buyers guide) and am just double checking I'm not completely underestimating this car.

Im looking at car still with 18 months TVR Power engine rebuild Warranty.

I'm aware of the approx £600 for 6000 mile servicing and am braced for a few hundred on top of this for 'stuff' on each service

So....how much on top of this should I allow to run the car - I'm not talking tyres etc but any other faults that I may need to rectify.

I was thinking (hoping) that £3k a year would be sufficient to keep one of these in good health - am I beig naieve or is that realistic?

Sounds reasonable. I've spent about 4k in the past 15 months, but that included a gearbox rebuild, new driveshafts and CV joints, clutch slave cylinder, shocks and springs, geo setup, insurance and so on.

I'd say you're safe with 3k in an average year, with the caveat that if the engine goes you'll be looking at a one off of 4.5k or so - but that won't be every year.

I was told £500 for a gearbox, allow £1000 for shocks, £200+ for geo, £500? for insurance (£1000 for me)

so actually that doesnt strike me as horrific - £4k for 15 months and you have done alot to it....

Ive just spent around £1100 of 12k service (including valve adjustment) on Tuscan suspension set up (not new shocks) insurance areound £520 and have had about £1500 or warranty work done in the last year (plus £300 "oil service&quot

So about 3k should be about right......

Again worth every penny!!
