i hope my topic title is stronger this time than the last! from time to time my car pops out of 2nd gear. i thought it maybe just me but having read something on the scotland forum one of the guys there thinks he may need a new gearbox. has anyone come across this?

I don't think you would require a new G/Box perhaps just a look at some of the cogs inside the box.

I lost 5th gear in my tuscan and Dreadnaught in callendar sorted it in a few days. It was expensive though (£750)as the box had to be removed. They send them to a gearbox specialist to get sorted so it might be worthwhile speaking to a specialist I think they send them to a guy in Falkirk but I don't know their name.
might be worth contacting a few garages as I don't think you will have to deal with a TVR specialist for G/Box repairs Im sure you could get it done a lot cheaper..

When does it pop out of gear? When accelerating? I've heard of knackered engine/gearbox mounts causing the gearstick to hit the fibreglass around the centre console. Might be worth checking......

My T350 developed a really notchy gearchange, but having just had a failed engine mount replaced, the gears are now smoother than ever! Worth a check!

thanks guys, will check around the glasgow area for gearbox specialist. it is a bit of a jaunt to do the callander trip. as a matter of interest it only happens at low speed which leads me to think that i may not be putting it in properly!
