Indies ervicing

I'm just coming up to having to fork out for a 12k service, and realise that it will not be cheap !
Indies obviously seem to be cheaper than main dealers and I've therefore considered both Sportmotive in Stoke and Topgear Automotive at Wolverhampton.
Has anyone any experience of either ?
Also, is a valve clearance check vital at 12k ?

Hi,if you travel a little further Ian at Torque RVT in Middlewich is excellent with speed 6 and RV8 engines.Regard,Dave.

Travel to Kirkham and have the top Ex Factory (X-WORKS) guys (Heath Briggs&Paul Forrest) to it, cost me £750 for full 12k service although it was only due 6k. Essential to have clearances checked and adjusted, also depends who did them last time. Adjustment took something like 4 hours from memory, so even at £40 /hour you can see where the cost comes from (£82 was TVR dealer rate)

TopGear Automotive come highly recommended. I've used them a few times and have always received excellent service. You won't be disappointed...........

Although it can be seen as "highjacking", I think that the only reason Middlewhich was mentioned is simply to offer a good alternative. No price was mentioned even though Ian only charges about 375 for a 12K Service including valve shim check.
If someone is willing to travel as far as Stoke from Nottingham (about 60 miles) then he may be interested in travelling a little further for a very good Indi.
I myself would welcome any alternative recommendations.

Another vote for Automedon here, they did a fantastic Job on my Cerbera Worth every penny of the fuel cost to get there!! (I live south of Birmingham and Travelled to Blackpool). The trip home was oh sooo worth it

It is possible but it can be difficult with the ammount of calls he gets day and night plus a lot of people turn up on spec as well.
