Try NTEL, he makes new ones, top quality I understand.

There was some secondhand for sale a few weeks ago - so I decided to do the guy a favour and take them off his hands. They should be producing some serious noise on Friday after a visit to Torque RVT.

Roll on Friday!!

woohoo

That'll be me then smile

I'm just awaiting on my machine shop to delivery more mating flanges and then I will be making another batch. I also have a matching decat chip to suit the standard 4.0l engine as well matched exhaust cans that sound awesome. I'm away on holiday until end of the month so should have the batch ready by mid Feb.

Ah,

you brought these off of John! Anyhoo, you'll love it! Just don't leave the standard cans on, the noise isn't as naughty!

Yes mate. You will probably need the larger manifold mating flanges also. The decat chip is not suitable for the S engine though. I have the material and the mating flanges (largrer ones) in stock for the later S units so would be able to turn them around fairly quickly following my return from holiday.

Nice car by the way smile. Its almost as nice as mine wink

Dave let me know when you can supply these, I will be having a bespoke de-cat chip from TVR power as Dom explained to me last week the standard one would not be suitable.

Thanks for the comment on the car smile

Why did Dom at Power say the standard one is not suitable?

Apparently they have not done a de-cat chip for the 'Sargaris spec engined' Tuscans, and the adaptive map limits would need to be adjusted.

So it's basically being mapped on their rolling road? Let us know how you get on. They were happy to sell me a chip for my Sag engined Tuscan in Aug 06 that was supposed to be for decats and also to pass an MOT. All it did was make it run dangerously lean. I must chase them up for the credit they owe me smile

My car was used for the standard 4.0l decat chip. John Ravenscroft did the 5 power runs and the remapping. He managed to get an extra 28bhp and almost 50ftlb out of the engine. air / fuel ratio graph is spot on all through the range. Its supposed to be able to pass an MOT with the new map but I have not tested this yet. I am very happy with the results. Worth every penny.

Yes I am sure if it had been mapped on a rolling road, it would have worked, but they sold me a chip over the phone. I'm not bothered about it, I had a verbal offer of a credit, and this was before they had a rolling road.

I'm sure now they would prefer to get people in to map the car independantly.

I also see there price on mapping a car is about half the price of other places, so would be worth a visit.

Oh God, had the decats fitted, it's been described as the "Devil throwing one off"!! evil

It's loud and noisy, what have I done???? eek It doesn't sound like any other decatted Tuscan.

To make it worse, we had to cannibalise the original cats to make the decats pipes fit as it's an S with the larger bore exhaust - so I can't re-fit the cats.

The GF is not impressed, neither are the neighbours.

Oops, I may have gone too far!! yikes

"as well matched exhaust cans that sound awesome. "

NTEL - what are the matched cans like?

I'd like loud but not too loud and and concerned that a decat and CCC will be too much.

Any idea od of rating?

I have just made another batch of decat pipes if anybody is interested. All sizes and combinations are available.

Regarding the cans, its difficult to describe the noise, except that they are quieter than the CCC's and most of the rasp has disappeared leaving a nicer, deeper note. I have just had mine powder coated in a colour to match my rear window. Had some sparkles put in aswell which really make them stand out in the sunshine.

I can get my hands on a sound meter so will post some noise levels when I have them.

Some pic below (sorry about the quality)
