Have just discovered a huge nail in one of my rear tyres - a Toyo Proxes T1-S. Have been excellent tyres to date (and still not heavily used mad) but now need a replacement as I am loosing air fast. A couple of queries

- Toyo T1-R appears the "newer" model; anyone have any +ve or -ve experiences? Look about £140 per tyre currently.
- I have one tyre I really HAVE to replace, but should I replace both rears nonetheless at the same time to ensure even wear ongoing? Concerned about differences in "feel" and road-handling if I do not.

Thanks in advance!

Definitely change both rather than just one I reckon. I changed my rears from T1-S to T1-R's about 3K miles ago, no major difference noticed in them to be honest. Still feel very confident in wet and dry.

Just got feedback from the "guru" - Martin at Racing Green - and recommendation is indeed to change both tyres as tread wear can be different on rears if fitted at diff times (not advisable). Have accordingly purchased 2 T1-R's (245/40/18's) at app £130 each fully fitted, inc VAT etc from BlackCircles. Excellent service - and they give a 5% PH discount if you type in Pistonheads in the promotional window.
