outdoor cover for tuscan mk 2 S

Guys,

Can anyone recommend an outdoor cover for a Tuscan 2 S? Unfortunately my garage is going and the poor thing's going to have to live outside....

Fits well and is really secure on the car.

I'd think twice about a car cover of any sort. Any car painters I've spoken to say its the worst thing you can do due to condensation being held against the paint and micro scratching. This was reinforced last week in a conversation with the famous 'Gerbil' who used to run/supervise/work in the TVR body shop. I've just have mine painted and won't be covering it again. The problem you will have is leakage...maybe a car port at least??

Don't have the choice unfortunately. It's either a cover or exposed to the elements.

Did it scratch up your car badly?

Needed painted anyway. I suppose as long as you take the cover off as often as poss and let the air round it you'll be fine. May be worth paying a valeting co to put several coats of good quality wax on your paint or maybe one of those paint protection systems??

Agreed dust and dirt quickly gets under the cover even if you put it on when clean and soons finely scratches the paint.

You could get one of those covers that just fits over the roof and window sections to help keep the leaks away.

I have used a Covercraft Weathershield for 3 yrs, because like you, I have no choice but to park the car outside. I have found the cover excellent, and although there is always the risk of scratching underneath from dirt particles etc, a 6 monthly clay bar/polish/sealant/carnuba wax exercise with Mothers 3-Phase products does the business and removes any visible scratches to a degree I am more than comfortable with. I also wash the car regularly and the cover once every 6-8 weeks which keeps it relatively clean and retains it waterproofing well. The cover is tight, but not so tight to prevent air flow, and especially in windy weather, it sometimes allows too much air!!

The other options - no cover; ok, so no scratches, but then dirt in the air/UV damage (major issue - don't underestimate it) on the paint and potential prying eyes. I also have the Leven half cover, which is good for a quick solution or when it is very windy, but is not as "scratchless" as the Covercraft. All in all, I am more comfortable having a cover than not given no garaging solution at a reasonable cost/realistic availability.

I agree with the above.

I have only had this cover a day or so but have had the Tuscan under a breathable cover since I bought her. My car is cleaned every week and I check all the time to make sure no moisture is on the bodywork. The cover is also vented and has plenty of room to breathe. The wind does get around inside the cover but it is a snug fit and is held on with underbody straps. With regards to scratching i'm sure any fine particles being dragged accross the paint will mark it but i'm extra careful when removing or fitting the cover and the cover is completely washable to remove any grit. My car also has many coats of Swissol and is cleaned with Swissol cleaner fluid every so often.

As my car is on the driveway (garage is now a playroom ) a car cover is a must for me. Keeps rain off, prevents people scratching it as they walk past it and keeps it from unwanted attention.

Used it a lot when i owned my Cerbera, and now with the Tuscan, and provided car is clean before use, did not scratch the paintwork, even after prolonged windy weather.

I have the lightweight breathable one from Classic Additions, and my car sat on the seafront at Portishead for a year whist I was working down there. Never given me any problems, very easy to fit and with it being breathable never had a condensation problem.

My car is garaged now so you're welcome to borrow mine for a few days to see if you get on with it...
