How many parts make up the air con?
Discussion
My car wasn't spec'ed with aircon when the original buyer ordered it.
A few years ago I got quotes between £2K+VAT from the factory and £4K from a dealership to retro-fit which I never took up.
In the hope of a nice summer, I'm thinking about the possibility of stripping all the air con gubbins from a written off car and having them fitted into my car.
Can anyone give me any indication as to how hard (expensive) this would be?
Thanks, Phil

wouldn't bother, just take the rear screen out with the roof on, even at high speed its not very noisey and takes 20sec max to do.
don't know about others but my aircon freezes my feet, is abit lame higher up, and does nothing for the passenger as the exhaust heat counteracts it.

if you can still get it done for 2K + vat and you plan on keeping the car for a few more years( ie if it's financially worthwhile) then it is a god send in London traffic.
Otherwise just sweat it out, as it's certainly not as good as a modern normal cars aircon!
Maybe some of the ex factory workers businesses up north could fit it for a good price.
