Ok, may sound a bit odd. But is there a quick small water proof covering available, that you can put on when temporarily parked up with roof off?
When I have the roof off I don't want to always put it on if the car is somewhere secure but open to the elements. I had something like this for the elise, that went over the wing mirrors and literally just covered the cockpit but attached at the rear soft top fastenings. With the tuscan it could attach to the rear window clips. Just wondered as would be handy from time to time!

Leven technology do a cover for £150 but I think it's designed to cover the roof whilst the lid is on (to guard against leaking roofs). Not sure whether it is designed for the use you have in mind. Probably best to give them a call. Link attached.

The Leven cover is good, but quite rigid so my only concern would then be if water collected on it and "collapsed" the cover into the car itself when the lid was off. I tend to use the Leven top when it is really windy and my full cover could get blown off - only issue with the Leven is that it it does not prevent very minor scratching.
