I am tempted to decat and have her remapped but spoke to Dom at TVR Power and Jason ay STR8 SIX who advised to use cats. I'm confused!
might be because its an S (didnt notice that in your first post). The decat chip I have will only work for a standard 4.0L. Dom and Jason are the best in the business, so I would take their advise.Going by Racing Greens site there are 2 different types...one for std 4.0 and one for the S... http://www.thetvrshop.com/TVR/Parts/Tuscan/f%7C.ht... but a phone call to them will confirm which is the right one

Thanks Dave. Do you know if the cats are the same for the standard engine and the S spec engine. I have found some second hand ones from a standard engined 2004 car.
The standard cats are different in so much as the outlet is 54mm od instead of 57mm od. The CAT element is the same. You can still use them. All you have to do is slide over a 50mm length of 57mm OD x 1.2mm stainless tube and weld it to the taper. It will then fit your exhaust pipe.Failing that, contact me and I can fix you up with some NTEL Decats.
Just for anyone elses info, I was kindly given this contact for cats at a very reasonable price £215 each.

I have just had some of NTEL's decat pipes fitted to my Standard 4.0l with CCC's. Just incredible, I am sure I will be able to live with the increased volume! One of my cats that has only done 2500 miles was beginning to break uop and burn away so hopefully making this change was done just in time to save nasty bits of cat getting back into the engine! Engine seems much smoother too. Booked into Power next week to have the chip done, will report back once done!
But to sum up.....NTEL's decat pipes are to Tuscans what The Stig is to Top Gear!! Get them done!

I would go the decat route but hav been advised that on an S spec engine this isn't the way to go so it's cats for me!But to sum up.....NTEL's decat pipes are to Tuscans what The Stig is to Top Gear!! Get them done!
