passenger window wont drop
Discussion
Hi, got in the car today and the passenger door window wont go down, when you push the window button inside the car you can hear it click but nothing happens i have checked the fuses (what a pain, as i still have not recived my handbook
) so what could it be, and if anybody has a copy of the fuse layout that would help as well. Thanks Gordon.........
) so what could it be, and if anybody has a copy of the fuse layout that would help as well. Thanks Gordon.........Tuscan 2 Vert fuse layout,Fuse 8, but sounds more like a motor, sender or mechanical fault to me...Think it will be a door trim off job..Best of luck Gordon......Keith
PS What happens when you open the door??? Does window drop??? Becareful if it doesn't, 'cos it will catch on the A frame...You could break your window...Be tricky to close the door I guess, if it does open.
Any flashing lights on the door (centre console) opener???
I assume you've done all the usual...Press UP window switch to make sure at top,Alarm car to reset door ECUs....Try Emergency Door release pull

Hi Keith, i have tried all your tips without any luck, i have rung TVR BARNET and they said bring it over tomorrow and they can fix it (some sensor in the door) quick and easy fix. Thanks for the fuse layout BUT mine fuse board is nothing like the one you have posted (TVRS, dont you just love them

Just checked fuse layout with my car and mines as per pic. Corner cut out on the right and row of fuses up the left(16-41) and across the top (1-15), spare fuses in section in the middle. I thought all Convertibles and Targas (With vert dashboard) had this layout (known as a Tuscan III by the factory people). Sure that TVR Barnet with sort it, hope its not too expensive.

Mine's been playing up for ages - passenger side as well. The lights around the door button and window buttons seem to flash in code - I think they are trying to talk to me. Each time it goes in I mention it but it never seems to get fixed
I don't know whether that's because it's not such a simple fix, or if there is some other reason, but it's driving me
It's gone in for a pre-holiday check over and I'm hoping that this time it will be sorted - especially as we are off to the continent and it makes it hard to pay tolls when the passenger window won't open.
Let me know what your fix was!

Tovie hopefully not but it does sound like the window motor to me, if its clicking could be the cogs wearing out.
Happened to mine last year looked inside and seemed an easy enough job to do but dont they all, took quite a bit longer than I was hoping and a bit tricky lining the window up with the roof and Im sure the welding inside the door was out on mine.
best of luck

Liz, They are talking to you....If it flashes it means the window ECU has lost its 'window postion', it flashes on the relevant side (drivers or passenger)...If you take the window up and down to the top , or alarm/disarm(thereby forcing window to top pos.) it should sort the ECU out...If a door closes ,but doesn't catch properly that screws the position....Otherwise I guess you might have a fault window ECU....Keith
