Big bill, sympathy required...

Ouch,

Just blew this years maintenance budget for the Tuscan in one hit!

got a £3500 bill sat on my desk, admittedly the nitrons were optional, and the service was to be expected.

new brake and clutch cylinders and fitting stung a bit though Oh well at least it will stop now!

Fingers crossed I will forget all about it when I get it back and Im happily hooning around on the weekend!

Until then I think I will just sob gently whilst looking at my empty bank account online.

Just paid my 12k service (incl tappets), fixed reversing light(centre console off), slight water leak ...£694... plus 4 Wheel Laser Alignment (which was free since I won it in the Xmas Raffle)... So you've made me feel quite pleased

Rear brakes were locking on, they replaced the master brake cylinder to there was a problem with the master clutch cylinder too.

Parts were pretty cheap, just lots of labour to fit them.

There is a 12k service at £650 and nitrons+fitting at £1300, and a few other bits and bobs.

I've Had issues with lumpy running, sticking gas pedal, and a few others so the winter was pretty frustating to live with the car.

Im hoping it will be transformed when I get it back,

If not I might end up selling up this summer.

I can easily beat that, I wont say how much but just guess what an engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild and new clutch all total!!

christ, not feeling quite so sorry for myself now!

I think the overall winner will be the poor guy who paid 1000's for the fully re-engineered S6 and ended up with a lumpy bag of bolts. Cant remember who that was.

And to think, I was toying with the idea of a Masa 3200GT as a daily drive, until I saw yearly running costs of 10-12k !!! I dont think I would be able to stomache that!

Booked a taxi to pick her up on Saturday (tapped my Old man up for a lift pleading poverty )

I'll be terrorising Coventry most of the day saturday hooning round to see the GF's family!

That average running cost of £3000 per year is looking on the light side then!!!

2.5 grand for me in the last few weeks just to sort damaged exhaust and a clutch replacement. Last year it was Nitrons, set up, etc. Not including any actual servicing costs on this!!!!

Wonder what's next? Maybe that full respray I've been promising the car, the new carpets to replace the faded stuff behind the seats, the upgrade to the sound system, repair and repaint on tatty spiders, refurbed LCD screen (lines appeared recently for the first time).

Thats not including insurance, petrol etc. just repairs.
I still have a list of things to fix.

I had a bill of about 5-6k at the end of last year for an engine rebuild. Not too bad I thought after 4 1/2 years and 38k miles, and was glad to get the car back after 3 months without it.

Then 2 weeks later I slip over and break my ankle, and I've not been able to drive it since - that was 3 months ago!

Just got my P&J back from Power yesterday - £2300 for a 6k service, new clutch, new radiator, new steering wheel, new heater fan motor, new rear brake stuff, loads of labour to fix some other niggles, a happy smile and a free tee-shirt !

Drives like a dream.

Nitrons are AWESOME!!

Did you pick your car up from TVR Power? I think I saw you going the other way. I was in a Taxi on the way there to pick up my Tuscan S with it's nice new engine.
Talking of which, my bill was just over 5k....including a show-off red rocker cover
