Any ideas on what would cause this, it has happened to my O/H 3 times, twice at speed the door has popped open and wont close unless you wind the window down and press the button under the wing mirror, and once in traffic it has happened.

Has it happened to anyone else and how did you rectify it?

Sounds like the door solenoid could have gone a bit dodgy or the catch that latches over the bar in the door has become loose.

Other thing to check is to see if the door has dropped slightly on its hinges or the bar on the door frame may have have moved around a bit. This may mean the catch isn't connecting properly when the door closes. When you press the door release button does the door pop open or do you have to pull/push it?

You mentioned that you had to close it using the button under the mirror - are the interior butons by the radio not working?

Cheers,
J

Pops open on request the rest of the time, I have had to pull the passenger side occasionally, but not the drivers side.

They are working, but the first time it happened, pressing the drivers exit button would not allow the door to be closed, maybe it wasn't pushed hard enough, but haven't tried it since.

knocking the window switch with your knee can make the doors open on early cars, that had the switches by the radio retro fitted.

not sure why, but if thats where he rests his leg that might be the reason

you could also check the emergency handle is pushed in properly, if the cable is too tight on these when the body flexes it can pop the door open
