Notchy gearchange
Discussion
Hi,
Have developed an issue with a very notchy gearchange in all gears- it feels as though my clutch is on its way out but was only changed in October along with slave etc etc.
Can anyone shed any light on this- could it be the n/s engine mount, i've heard this could affect??
Any help would be great, i don't want to have to shell out for another clutch but if this is the only answer then....
Thanks,
James

was the clutch master cylinder done at the same time?
Not that im particularly technical, but I just had my master clutch and brake cylinders replaced due to contamination in the fluid coming from dodgy seals (which buggered up my brakes)..
anyway, the end result was brakes that work and a much easier gear change.
It was news to me that clutch and brakes shared the same fluid. shows how much I know!

Hi Rooty,
I have heard that the n/s engine mount collapsing can cause sticky gear-changes so that's a possibility. Have you noticed any new vibrations at all?
Have you checked the fluid levels or noticed any leaks on the drive/garage etc? Might just be useful to take the bonnet off and take a quick look at the engine mount anyway.
