Hi folks,

Was cleaning the car the other day and noticed above the cans, sort of a bit further back, there's some kind of flakey material which easily breaks off if you touch it. I assumed it was some kind of heat shielding that's been painted on... or is the heat from the exhausts causing the paint to come away?

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
J

I remember those first fewcloud9weeks of ownership when I used to clean the underside as well.
When the paint started coming off I stopped washing and haven't been back down there to look to see if any more has come off since! I suppose it must have been put on for a reason but don't know what.

yep, I would not worry about it, it's just the paint/stuff coming off due to heat.
