Driving down the A2 last night when the gearbox went bang, it's lost 5th gear and reverse but 1st and second feel strange too. had it relayed home to avoid running it with the broken bits in.

Going through the car history the box had the same problem about 18 months ago.

off to pick up a s/h gearbox today, spoke to power who said seeing its failed once already with the same problem better off getting a s/h one and fitting that.

Sorry to hear that Paul, nightmare! I have seen a few T5 refurb 'boxes on ebay and the classifieds here (I think) recently....hope you get it sorted soon mate,

Leven Technology website mentions that they are rebuilding gearboxes. Might be worth a call.

I've now got another S gearbox sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted. Once I have the old one out I will strip in down and see what the damage is, if its nothing too major I will probably rebuild it myself.
