Morning all,can the diff ratio be changed on the early tuscans ? or are the diffs a differant type on Sags,T350's and the like ? Been reading about the 3.73 diff and this sounds like a good mod.
If it is possible how much and were ?
Cheers Dean
If you haven't already I would make your first mod the dampers and geometry as the stock mk1 Tuscan is a tank slapper, putting a lower BTF diff on it without changing the dampers and geometry first will make it a suicidal tank slapper. If it is possible how much and were ?
Cheers Dean
But having said that the answers to your questions are in order of asking is
Yes
No
If you do go down the route of a diff ratio change consider the Quaife ATB LSD while your at it. If you live in the south east I can put you in touch with the main importers of BTF who also are the cog men for the Aero 8 Brit car team and are very acquainted with Quaife.

it seems that 3,73 diff is standard on every TVR since the Tuscan (Tuscan Mk1 & 2, Tamora, T350, Sagaris).
so what is exactly the "diff mod" or "racing diff" people are talking about?
Where did you get that from??? Read the thread on T350/Sag page http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...so what is exactly the "diff mod" or "racing diff" people are talking about?
mine was 3:46 std on Mk2s... although it has been said the close ratio box on an 'S' was designed with a 3:73....Get your car up on a ramp an look at the printed label on your diff....Or do the speed comparisons....
Two weeks ago I had mine changed to a M76 3:73 from the BTR M80 3:46
Diff prefered by track people is a 3:91 (the so called racing diff)
