I took mine off for the first time yesterday. Not much fun, I can tell you that! Especially doing it yourself - if you are gonna do it alone, be very careful lifting the panel out and putting it back in.
To be honest, unless you're gonna be doing something once you get it off, it's not all that exciting!

You can get by with a normal socket set, with a short extension for the front bolts (under the service bonnet). It really is best to get help, especially putting the cover back on, as it would be easy to scratch something doing it yourself.
Getting it lined up going back on is a right bugger too!
