Rather worryingly my Tuscan had petrol hose at the rear of the engine bay, under the airbox (and thus not normally visible) which was leaking fuel. This was a braided rubber hose, and was simply perished with age - however the cracks weren't visible under the braiding, and the braiding also meant that the leaking fuel spread out as if on a wick, rather than forming drops, so the leak would have been hard to spot.

Could have been nasty if it had got worse. One to watch out for on the older cars.

Cheers,

FT.

Mine's just been replaced due to perishing, and my car is only just over 2 years old, so it's worth checking whatever age the car!

The hose going from the tank to the pump on mine was just replaced at the 42k service as it was perishing. Worryingly, the garage where it was MOT'd (not the TVR garage carrying out the service) marked it on an advisory note as being dangerous, but still gave it an MOT rolleyes
