Spent yesterday evening attempting to fix my front bonnet clip.

One side is not holding bonnet down and after a bump/bit of speed it releases it and the front bonnet just bounces around on one side.

Can't seen anything wrong with it - tryed adjusting it left/right/up/down but still pretty loose.

Anything I can do or should I just buy a new one?

Looks like it should be a couple of £ but bet its a fortune!!

Seems to be missing the thread though.

£3.90 not too bad - the racing green site is very good!

Hi DA Murphster,
My bonnet was doing the same, made worse by the fact that the center bolt from the main bonnet to the service bonnet is bust.
I bought new ones from TVR Power and it has stopped the "popping out" problem.
Yes, mine were also without the thread. I got stainless screws and cut the head off.
Still need to sort out the center bolt though.

I'm learning that these clips are a major embuggerance and seem to need fettling every time the bonnet comes off.

How long before we start seeing people fitting flush bonnet pins and the like?

They are not too bad - you need to ease them up as oppose to wrench them up.

After 8 years (assuming they are original) mine were bent (ie the bracket on the hood)and I had real trouble removing them due to corrosion of the screws.

Will replace all screws with stainless and coppergrease threads and I'm confident it will be fine.
