Mine cost about that from fleabay.
2000 MK1 4L 24,000 miles in reflex green, loads of money spent, including 18" spiders and brake upgrade. Full TVR history, recent respray, waxoyled, had 24,000 service and look over by London TVR before sale and everything working/running fine except heater fan blower. Just bought new Heater ECU off fleabay.
Also came with set of 16" wheels and tyres.
Just got agreed value insurance at £15,000!
I am sure people have got a better bargain than mine, so take your time and you will find a good one.

You can get true bargin Tuscans but be prepared to spend money and/or time on them.
If you only have 12k including running costs then you could end up in a heap of trouble.
If you bought one in decent condition for under £13k - if you mentally 'allowed' £5k for a rebuild you could have a 2 year warranty rebuilt engine all for a reasonable price.
I bought mine 6 months ago, 2001 x plate covered 17,5000 miles with a rebuild at 4,500 miles and had it's clutch done the year before i bought it. Cost me 16k.
Might be a risk with the rebuild 13,000 miles ago but I took it for a good test drive listening and looking for anything untoward, checked the service history which was up to date and talked to the salesman who knew what he was talking about.
I don't have a unlimited bank balance to keep it running but have enough set aside just in case.
My advice would be to know what you are letting yourself in for, be prepared to spend some money and choose the car that ticks as many of the boxes as possible.
Some break, others don't. You can't guarantee trouble free motoring, you just have to live with it if anything happens.
Last word would be, buy one! I've loved every minute of mine and so glad I bought it.

Something that I did not consider when buying mine was the cost of desirable mods.
I dismissed one £1k more than the one i bought due to price.
Retrospectively it had just been serviced, had better paintwork and Nitrons.
Upgraded suspension and getting the paint touched up is going to cost me more than the £1k I dismissed it for!
"Small" things like a recent service, less stone chips, soon add up!!
