When I move the heater control I get a constant whirring noise. This stops (as if thinking) when I move the knob, but then re-starts and carrys on.

I'm assuming this means the stepper motor has broken away from whatever it is connected to, and is just whirring around?

Any advice on working on this part?

Cheers,

FT.

Hey matey,

That sounds about right - when you change the heater control it stops the fan and then starts again at the new setting. That's what the TVR Centre chaps told me. Or do you mean something else?

Yeah, that's exactly what it sounds like. And with the fan very low or off there is a constant background whir (unless you've just moved the control).

Hmm.. sounds like the fan is working properly but maybe the contact is stuck open somewhere or the button is broken, so it's stuck on permanently?

Are the lights for the fan constantly on or do they turn off when you press the button?
If you turn the fan up to max and then press the button, does it turn off?
