255 x 35 x 18 Tyres all round?

I noticed that I have Toyo 255 x 35 x 18 on all four corners of my Tuscan.

I will need to change all four tyres within the next few months and wondered if anyone can suggest maybe different sizes or can confirm whether these are the best all round size to have?

I have TOYO T1Rs 235/40/18 on the front and 255/35/18 on the rear.

Seems pretty good and stable (sometimes!) and only tramlines on the most messed up of roads.

255/35/18 all around are standart on Tuscan S MKII. I'm quite happy with it. Never tried other dimensions.

Im a touch confused.

Why would it be better to have a thinner higher profile tyre on the front and a fatter lower profile tyre on the rear?

Is it normal/ common to have a car rolling with a higher profile at the front than the back?

Why would it make a difference?

the dealer that BigJL bought his car from(well the previous owner to be exact) would sometimes reccommend to put 40 series tyres on the car to help with tramlining. Cannot remember exactly what his suggestion was ie 40 on front and rear or just front. He was generally thought of to know what he was talking about(with regard to car setup) with a racing background. I've no idea if this helped (although I am sure it would) as I've always stuck to 35 series.

If say I do change tyres to 235/40/18 on the front and stick with 255/35/18 on the rear will i have to re-set all the geometry due to the change in tyre size?

That is if it was ever set up after the last tyre size change. It is worth checking out and IIRC all cars came with 235 on the front.

I had the geometry re-set about 2 months ago to the 255 tyres on all 4 corners. So I guess would have to do it again if i change to 235.
