Hi there, been a while since I posted but good to be back.
I sold my 06 Tuscan S in October 07 because I was starting work over seas (month on month off), I also did not have a garage to put it in when when I was going to be away so you can imagine how worried I'd be with it sat on the road side for a month we me out of the country. (Mind you, I had a million offers from people who wanted to look after it for me as you can imagine)
Anyway, I almost cried when the car drove away.
Well now i'm back home more regular and i'm drawing up plans to build a garage for my new house. So guess what. I'm looking to buy again.
What i'm looking for is pretty much what I sold, I have a question though which no one has ever really been able to answer.
The car I had was a Tuscan S (not convertible) with the very latest dash board.
A post on this forum states that 102 Tuscan Convertables were made before the very unfortunate closing of the factory.
My question is, How many cars were made with the new style interior / dash in the hard taga roof. Does anyone know for absolute sure.?
Anyway, I might be back in the TVR scene soon and i'm looking forward to it.

If the details are correct from data posted on these forums on the model No's then there is the grand total of 23 Targas produced with the convertible dash although how many of these were the the 'S' variant I don't know:-

Ive got one of those garage ornaments sat doing/done nothing,(waiting for the snow) referred to as MK3 by the factory boys ,economy late 07 Tuscan s in red with the cheap and nasty fiesta popular stalks,key,column,shrouds.and boarding analogue dash with needles,crap 1970s steering wheel.((look like a convertible and 350 dash i think)
mind you they don't bounce all over the road with bump steer like the others,
so glad they went belly up as they started to take the unique design away. those magic billet dashes,alloy stalks, fire button, steering wheel with finger tip switches (dare ya take your hands off the wheel at 160+ to switch the wipers on ), vent to waft the brown trouser smell away and keep your nads cool.lush anodised alloy dash jewelry and console knobs. and go back in time,may be steel wheels were next.
THERE THE RAREST of all the Tuscan I'm told (thank god)

an 06 Tuscan 11 S with proper dials, I looked long and hard and would not have bought one with a digital pod --horrible IMHO just joking but not to my taste. I had to pay a bit more but its a beautiful looking car inside.
its has 10,000miles on it and I doubt I will ever sell it totally unmarked and if its not already its going to be a classicin the next few years.
when I have recovered from buying it or I come to sell the Griff 500 I will buy a new engine from Racing Green just in case.
By the way I saw on eBay a brand new instrument pod for sale someone in Blackpool he wanted I think 250 GBP sound very reasonable. Im not sure where you can get them from now.
to me the Tuscan was the ultimate car TVR produced and the 11 S so few of them get one while you can

Yes, waited about a year, she has all the technical spec of an MK2 but .... an MK1 alu interior !! It's a unique piece, her heart is having a rebuild, sik ... not so unique.

There's actually no such thing as a Mk3....It was an unofficial term used by factory staff to refer to the convertible dash electronics and then used in later Mk2 Targas. If your question is "How many Mk2 Targas with convertible dashboards?" I'd say 23...from Ben Langs figures above (all those built in 2006, plus a couple more built or being built since)...but I'm not sure about Bens figures..They were supplied to a New Zealander to demonstrate TVR were a low volume producer and they conflict with figures for convertibles that I got directly from TVR Sales in 2006 before the closure.
As for the Ford stalks, same on Sags and T350s (maybe Tams) changed when TVR changed to Ford Steering column from Vauxhall Cavalier as used on Griffs and Chims....Hence why they have Vauxhall stalks as std. TVR just ran out of the "Hollow Pepper Pots" that are glued on top of the black plastic bits. I understand Farbios (and Marcos used to) use the same steering column and stalks...just that Leven modify them. So we're in good company

think the change light should change color with revs ie amber green red,
not that Tuscan should be in the red line....it should be the other side of it!!!
Are those letter box type pod dashes practical i thaught they look a bit small to read?
a couple more for the register there well spotted.
Im thinking of selling mine soon and mod a old one and make a electric roof version.

Ah, so that's how it works. Me being somewhat colourblind won't help then. But it doens't matter, the whole dash lighting up gives a very good warning. Must say I really like the pod and it's not too small too read, quite happy with it.Ihave asked for these mk3 tuscans (as the factory boys refur to them) to be recognised as 2 more diferent models ie mk3 non s and mk3 s models as they dont fit in to the present catagories. also we need to be clear as to if its an s or not an s.
