How much oil will I need to replace in my Tuscan if I drain it from both the expansion tank at the front, and the "sump" itself. The handbook says 6 litres but my last service bill mentioned 12 litres for an oil change?

Oh you will!

9+ litres is easy on dealer/correct change
inc. cooler, hose and dry sump purge. not done by many though

Thanks guys. I currently have about 6 litres of new oil, wasn't sure if that would be enough.

I usually get 9+ish litres out draining the 2 sump plugs. (6 litres from the tank and +/-3 from the engine) and I use a clear bucket with a measuring line so I put the same amount back in and then warm up and test to see the level. I take some of the hoses off to to try and get as much new oil into the system. (is handy with Mr Varleys' manual. Thanks)

And...........

a little modification to the sump casting helps to drain so much more.

OK
sucking out every last drop will give more than 6 liters
i yust drain the tank and replace that
and i do it every 1/2 year (<1500 miles)
so for me no need to suck the last drop out
that drain plug in the sump is a good mod though
