Rear Badge

How do you remove the Tuscan badge i want to send it off for refurbing.

Who is doing the work and how much are they charging?

open the boot and take of the little square piece of carpet on the backside
it's straight forward
don't loose the little springs
i did the refurbishing myself
take out the old paint, fill it with new and polish the top

Please,

I bought a spare badge of ebay but it screw threads are missing was hoping to temporary use this whilst i wait for my badge to come back from leven (4 weeks)

I can't see the patch of carpet to remove just 2 pozi screws to remove catch is that what i remove?

I believe The access to the rear badge is via the approx 6" round plastic plug in the boot, but you need long thin arms

Nick , I think that may only be on Mk2s and our badges are fixed, isn't it the opening mechanism on a Mk1.

True on MK1. Rubber bung, long thin arms...correct.

I also refurb'd mine with some oven-curable enamel stuff from hobbycraft...nice and glossy and black and goes rock hard. Slow cure in v.low oven. Clean out old paint and carefully pour in the enamel around the lettering and avoid dust and tripping up on the way to the kitchen.

Im sending both badges to Leven for gold ones but to finish off does anyone know where you can get the seat back badges in gold.

I got mine done as "high spec"(front& rear) which means resin covered...The "gold" then doesn't rub off.

Paul if you need a spare badge with threads I've got a few. You can borrow one while your's is away.
