Seriously thinking about getting back to TVR ownership having owned 3 previously, originally fancied
a Tuscan 2 Convertible, but the price may be restrictive, spotted this yesterday and would welcome your
Collective thoughts.

Looks OK in the photos, and if you can get it for £16k that would be about right if the engine has not been rebuilt? I would have thought if it had it would be in the listing? 2002 14k miles means it aint been used that much, so check out the history,worth getting it inspected, and make sure you budget in the cost of a rebuild. I know they all don`t need one, but if it`s going to go it will be pretty soon IMO.
I thought you couldn`t get on with the Speed 6? I would have you down as getting another Cerb? Craigs old car was for sale a while back

YES I KNOW THAT CAR!!!!! Some of it is mine, the first picture is of a car at Driven image(I think) and the next 3 are of my cars interior and wheel, so I will try to get in touch with ebay about it immediately. This is obviously a scam. My car is actually on ebay too, so I am a bit p@**ed off with him, as it could now make my car look dodgy. I will post back soon.

In fact, look at the pictures of the interior, the first one shows my seats with mulberry inserts and if you look closely at the other one, the drivers seat is all black. I will ask him to explain that one when I get to talk to him.

I have reported it to ebay and also rang Driven Image to let them know photos of their car have been nicked from the PH classifieds too . I tried ringing the mobile number on ebay to talk to the lying scumbag, but it rings and rings, then goes to answerphone. Glow Worm suggests that we Pistonheaders bombard him with emails to p**s him off.

Perhaps all the facts should be obtained before bombarding etc.

Perhaps the seller 'borrowed photos' because they are too lazy to take them of a similar vehicle which is wrong but not necessarily a scam.

Not sure that would be an honest thing to do, and given that he has got a start bidding price at £16,000 and also a buy it now of £16,000 it looks to me like he just wants someone to click the buy it now price and then they have comitted by the rules of Ebay. I am sure if it is all legitimate, he will come on and defend himself, but why would an honest person use photos of at least 2 other peoples cars? You would need to be incredibly lazy to do that. Also, why list the car and say you have gone on holiday. Perhaps you would be willing to give £16,000 to this man, but the OP asked if anyone knew the car and wanted opinions, so I gave mine, and considering it is my car in the photo, I think that qualifies me to give an opinion.
Perhaps this bloke has also super-imposed a picture of Angelina Jolie on his wedding photo instead of his fat ugly bride, which you might think is fine, but I am sure Brad Pitt would be miffed. Or perhaps I am meant to be flattered that he chose my car, so it must be a nice one?

He has edited his ad now. He has apologised for using pictures of other cars rather than his own. I can't understand why he needed to use pictures robbed from Pistonheads classified, as I found some good photos of his car when I googled his Reg HV02VTL, there are some cracking pictures on a car salvage website! Mossy, pity you already have a nice Tuscan, seems like you might have been a prospective buyer?

Look sonshine, I wouldn't have got scammed, and I never have been for the record, and I still don't necessarily believe its a scammer. Perhaps you have been burnt in the past to be having so much of a cow about this.

I wouldn't want an unsuspecting person to buy a car that was stolen/recovered and falsely represented with pictures of at least 2 different vehicles. Only following questions from pistonheaders has he actually edited his ad and put down the reg. Just hope you bought yours from new, or it could be a MK3 Cortina with some paper mache bodywork and a nice paint job, have you had the big bonnet off yet? There might be a 1600cc under there! Only joking Mossy, but I think in the spirit of PH and ebay I feel it is my duty to point out what looks very dodgy, although my wife says I do tend to rant a bit.

Looking at his feedback which is 100% I notice he has bought and sold a few cars, so I rekon he has either purchased a cat 'D' or 'C' has had it repaired and selling it on... or has possibly purchased an unregistered cat 'C' or 'D' car that is repaired and selling on.

Be interesting to see what an HPI check brings up on the plate.

That said though, if it has been damaged and if it has been repaired it could be a fantastic job done on it and could be as good as new but if this is the case it should be clearly stated.

I appear to have set off a hornets nest here, that was not my intention, promise

I simply wanted some info on a great looking car and through experiance I know this is the place to get it, and boy did I get it.

I must admit to smell a little rat with this one, places the listing and then go's on holiday ! one bid effectivly buys the car ! all a bit odd to say the least.

Can I assume that this car is damaged repaired or have I got he wrong end of the stick ?

Nice to hear from you again, not sure about a Cerbera any more, did not see Craigs for sale, that may have been of interest, what is it with TVR's, had a Corvette Z06 for two years, went like a train,never missed a beat, but zero personality !!!!!

As I see it, he was trying to pass this off as an 'S' - photos from the salvage yard do indeed show otherwise!

Seems to be Category X which is effectively a vehicle which has been subject to an insurance claim, while withstanding minimal or nil damage or which could have been repaired in accordance with the manufacturers specifications.

As it has been either fully repaired or minimally damaged the Code of Practice for the Disposal of Motor Vehicle Salvage does not apply.

Why are do these people try it on, if your shelling out 16k surely you would do your research as with the OP
