Morning all,

Got back from Devon last night and picked up the tuscan ready for tonight's meet at the Ace cafe. The problem is that the passenger window has stopped working (stuck at closed position), the door pops open when you press any of the buttons but the window doesn't go down at all? Anyone one got any clues? Need to fix it today if I can or my mate will be walking to the Ace! smile

Cheers, Mr C

Sounds like it could be the window encloder that has gone wrong.

May be worth taking it out and seeing if it can be cleaned up, or could be a replacement job

Mr C,

Had this problem but on the drivers side recently, Took it to Racing Green to get a Window Encoder, whilst there they had a look at it for me and it turned out to be the wires from the body to the door, the connectors were the usual TVR ones and NOT very good. I would suggest checking all the connectors first. They also fixed it for £20 which is the smallest bill I have ever had.

Mine does it when it rains hard due to water getting into one of the connectors inside the door. They are not sealed enough for the location so corrode.

Cheers Guys, gonna strip the door down tonight and give it all a good clean! If it still doesn't work then I'll have to book it in. The only other thing it could be is that i've noticed recently that the door drops a tiny bit when you open it so i'll also check the alignment as i've read on here that can also cause problems!

All fun and games, wouldn't have it any other way! smile Mr C

Just wanted to say a big thank you (even you Rens) for all your help. Got home last night and stripped down the door controller ecu in the tunnel, disconnected to main loom from body to door and all the connections to the window motor and window encoder and cleaned using a bit of wet&dry and contact cleaner. Even thought the car is kept in a garage there was moisture around the window encoder/motor connections so gave it a good blast with a hairdryer. And as if by magic the window went down but wouldn't go back up again, so shut the door set the alarm and it's all fixed! smile

To celebrate this triumph I popped the roof off (and rear screen) and gave it a good blast in and around London! smile Mr C

Ps. Also a big thank you to the mytuscan.co.uk website for being very handy, keep up the good work!
