Autobahn's in Germany \ Headlight adapters

Hi All,

I will be taking the tuscan to Berlin tommorow, I know that there are certain autobahns with no speed limits or at least higher than the UK. How do you know which bits are unrestricted. i.e. what sign do they use for that.

If any one has information on the route (as per multi map from Calais to Berlin) that would be great.

Also I assume that the generic headlight adapters that you get from halfords will be required, although I dont think it is likley that it will have fitting instructons on the packet. Any thoughts.

This might be too late. I don't use the light deflectors, never had a problem. As for knowing where "fast" roads are I trust the sat nav. The Sat nav shows no speed limit so that's what I do there are cameras to capture the vehicals that need to pay a toll so when you pass these you know too.

There isn`t a sign for the unrestricted bits. Only for the restricted parts. You will recognize this parts by the traffic signs, often 100 km/h (60 mph). Or 60 km/h in roadworks-areas. Please take this speed-limits serious. But if you see the white sign "end of speed limit", you can test your Tuscans possibilities.

When all the other cars zoom off into the distance you can usually assume you've entered a de-restricted zone. Just make sure you slow down once you enter a limited area (again, the locals will give you a clue). Belgium can be frustrating at 120kmh. Be careful.
