Cat gone into pieces - how to get out of exhaust pot ?

One of my catalysts has fallen apart into bits and pieces. These made it (after a while of very silent driving without any pops and bangs...) all the way down into the pot at the end of the system, right before the cans ...
While smaller parts where blown out, there is is a bigger piece now rattling inside the pot box. I took the can off, but still can't get there to destroy or get the b
y metal honeycomp thing out .
(Wife was not amused neither, me hammering in the garage on Easter Monday evening...)
Any ideas / experience how to sort this ?

No experience.
It has gone in, so it should be possible to take it out. Don't know how the inside looks. Try different ways of moving/tilting to get it around the ports in the pot. (quite sure you already tried)
Can you see the part ? Try to crush it.
If none of this works : grind a rectangular part out, take the st out and weld the part back in place...
